Nursing is the highest growing occupation in the United States. Nursing is facing a shortage. This shortage will continue for the next decade.
At 26%, the position of the registered nurse is the top occupation for job growth in the United States through 2020. Also, there are plenty of other nursing-related jobs available. By 2020, there will be a nurse shortage between 800,000 – 1,000,000. The shortage, due to baby boomers aging and needing more medical attention, is expected to hit the south and west the hardest.
